Initial meeting

The first step in the process is a meeting with you to discuss what you want. Our garden designer needs to know what your ideas are and what you need from your outdoor space or spaces. Just as important as what you like and want is establishing what you don’t like and want! We need to talk about the style of garden you’d like too. Do you want a traditional country garden or a modern one, for example? Also, we take photographs and measurements. Based on all of this, our team will produce a summary of the brief you supplied, a proposal regarding a design and a budget.

Site survey

If you approve the design and budget, the next step is a full survey and analysis of the outdoor space involved. Very large areas will require the services of a land surveyor, but in most cases, our garden designers can do all the survey work necessary. An accurate plan is made to record ground levels, boundaries, buildings, trees, services and any other features that will remain.

Design

Planning a garden includes any structures you want to have included such as decking, ponds, paths, retaining walls and so forth. The final stage of the planning and design phase is the production of 3D visuals and plans: concept plan, master or final layout plan, elevation drawings, construction drawings (if necessary), planting plans and lighting plans (if applicable). Once all of this has been signed off work can begin making plans reality!

Construction

Our skilled team builds or installs features that form part of the design such as paving paths or patios, walls, water features or decking, erecting trellis, pergola or lighting. If specialists, such as electricians or plumbers, are needed we call them in but remain fully involved in the project. So, you can relax knowing that all work will be done according to the agreed plans and complies with all the relevant industry standards and codes.
